C9 Summit

The C9 Summit is a collaborative gathering of Colorado’s diverse water stakeholders, including Basin Roundtable members, the Interbasin Compact Committee (IBCC), the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB), and the public. Designed as a space for focused engagement, this summit supports renewed connection among Roundtables, the IBCC, and the CWCB Board, encourages knowledge-sharing across basins, broadens CWCB’s reach to new audiences, and provides a platform to address CWCB initiatives and discuss Roundtable challenges and opportunities. In addition to strengthening coordination and fostering relationship-building through interactive exercises and timely panel discussions, the C9 Summit also serves as an opportunity to consider the broader statewide vision for Colorado’s water future through exploration of emerging themes, challenges, and opportunities shaping the future of water management in Colorado.


2025 C9 Summit Goals

  1. Offer opportunities for knowledge-sharing across basins, and address questions raised by stakeholders, building better connections among the roundtables, IBCC, and the CWCB Board.

  1. Create panels and interactive exercises that foster conversations, relationship-building, and advance timely CWCB initiatives

  1. Explore emerging concepts of statewide importance through engaging panels and discussions

  • 2025 C9 Summary



    The 2025 C9 Summit, held on October 28th and 29th at the Sheraton Denver West, successfully convened a diverse group of stakeholders, including Basin Roundtable members, the IBCC, the CWCB Board, and the public. The event achieved its core objectives by providing a platform for focused engagement and renewing connections between these core stakeholder groups. Honoring the 20-year legacy of the Water for the 21st Century Act, the agenda facilitated knowledge-sharing across basins through timely panel discussions and interactive exercises. The sessions fostered relationship-building and advanced key CWCB initiatives while also providing a critical forum to explore emerging concepts of statewide importance. Anchored by an insightful keynote from Russ George, and followed up by remarks from Governor Jared Polis, who underscored the state's commitment to collaborative water management, the summit also succeeded in broadening CWCB’s reach to new audiences. Overall, the 2025 C9 Summit successfully honored the 20-year journey of the Act while positioning Colorado's water community to address the challenges and opportunities of the next 20 years.
